Privacy policy

Vivid Cloud Circle is a small, informal Vajrayana practice group in Stockholm. This page explains what personal data the website handles, why, and what you can ask of us. We keep it to the minimum the site needs to work.

Who is responsible

The website is run by the circle's organiser, Vicky, on behalf of Vivid Cloud Circle. Vivid Cloud Circle is not a registered association or company. For anything about your data, write to .

Visiting the public page

You can read the public page without giving us anything. To deliver the page, a few services see your IP address and basic browser information, as any website's hosting does:

We don't use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and we don't build profiles of visitors.

The members' page

The members' page is protected by Cloudflare Access. To give you access, we keep your email address on our list of members. When you sign in, Cloudflare emails you a one-time code, or lets you sign in with Google if you choose that option. Cloudflare then sets a cookie in your browser that keeps you signed in for up to a month. This cookie is needed for the login to work, and it isn't used for anything else.

We use your email address only to let you into the members' page. If you leave the circle, or ask us to, we remove it from the list.

When you write to us

If you email us, we use your message and address to reply and to keep in touch about the circle, if you want that. We delete old correspondence when it's no longer needed, and at the latest after 12 months without contact unless you're a member.

Legal basis

We process the members' list and correspondence on the basis of our legitimate interest in running a small practice group and answering people who contact us (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). The technical data that hosting and fonts need is processed on the same basis, to make the website work and keep it secure.

Being part of a Buddhist practice group can say something about a person's religious beliefs. We keep the members' list only for running the group, never share it outside the circle, and never publish who our members are.

Services we use

Cloudflare, Inc. and Google LLC are based in the United States, so some data may be processed outside the EU. Both use the safeguards the GDPR requires for this, such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. You can read their own policies at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy and policies.google.com/privacy.

The site links to other websites, such as sister groups and online texts. Those sites have their own privacy practices, which this policy doesn't cover.

Your rights

You can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to how we use it, or receive a copy of it. Write to the address above and we'll answer within a month. If you think we've handled your data wrongly, you can complain to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection, Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten (IMY).

Changes

If we change how the site handles personal data, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
